Meet Neka

NeKa is a mom of a homeschooling and military family with 3 energetic boys (9, 7, & 5).  She loves to read and as you’ll see, is a life-long learner that loves to create something out of nothing.

Q: Why did you become an Entrepreneur?

A: I am a licensed registered nurse and worked long hours in nursing.  During that time longed to spend more time with my family.  When my boys started learning about coding, my interest was piqued.  I was so intrigued that I started to learn about it myself and fell in love with coding!  I started slowly and just kept learning starting in September of 2019. I found that I just love being able to create something out of nothing.  Like most mompreneurs, I had that moment when I knew it was time to stop depending on someone else for my financial success, so I started my own business.

Q: Tell us about your business.

A: My business, Neka Blair Designs, was started in 2020.  I am a web developer and designer specializing in WordPress..  I love helping women business owners with their web design, landing pages, app development and SEO.  Specifically, I feel invested in moms, because I know how tough it is to juggle all of the family demands as well as the business demands.

Q: What is your personal mission, or your big why?

A: My personal mission is to help others in life. I believe in bringing God’s light to whatever I do.

Q: How do you integrate work and home?

A: I work odd hours around the times that my family needs me. If that means I need to get up at 5am, I do that, if that means I stay up til 1 am, then I do that as well.

Q: What has been your biggest lesson to date as a business owner?

A: Consistency above all is what you need to move forward in your business.

Q: Do you have any wisdom to share with your fellow mompreneurs?

A: It will get better, stay the course. There are people that will come and go in your business journey and that’s ok!  Stay the course.  It will be very hard at times, but do not give up.

My Key Take-aways:

  • You never know where your next passion might come from!
  • Stay the course
